Quagga/Zebra Mussels

If Quagga/Zebra Mussels are allowed to get into Lake Arrowhead, the lake as we know it will eventually cease to exist.  It is a serious threat to our lake, fishery and water system. Thanks to ALA’s diligence and Member support, the lake has remained Quagga/Zebra Mussel Free!  We MUST keep it that way.

Help ALA’s ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY keep us Mussel Free! In order to launch on Lake Arrowhead, your boat must have an ALA “band” in place, you must have an ALA Registered Boat Contractor’s letter or be on a Boat Storage contractor’s Certification List.  If not, your boat must be decontaminated. You may contact Lake Safety at 909 337-8829 to schedule a decontamination appointment.

In order to protect Lake Arrowhead, we need your help and cooperation.  On your Membership Statement, which was mailed to you with this Member Newsletter,  please sign the agreement which states:

“All members must agree that any items used on Lake Arrowhead (human-powered vessels, including but not limited to kayaks, canoes, pedal boats and paddle boards, inflatables, wet-suits, life jackets, rafts, squirt guns, waders etc.) will be used ONLY on Lake Arrowhead and not on any other body of water.  If the member introduces any item into Lake Arrowhead and the item introduced is proven to have been infested with invasive mussels, the member will indemnify the ALA for the cost to remove the invasive mussels from Lake Arrowhead.”

ALA continues to go above and beyond industry standards to ensure our lake’s safety. We thank you in advance for your cooperation in continuing to help us keep Lake Arrowhead Quagga/Zebra Mussel Free! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
